Rodrigo Chacón is currently an Assistant Professor of International Studies at ITAM and a National Researcher (SNI, level I). He received his BA in International Relations from ITAM, and holds MA and PhD degrees in Political Science from the New School for Social Research. Since 2004, he has taught political science, social theory, and international relations at Eugene Lang College, Technische Universität-Dresden, Boston College, Harvard, and ITAM.

He has taught seminars and lecture courses on Ancient and Contemporary Political Theory, The Political Thought of Hannah Arendt and Leo Strauss, Introduction to Social Studies, Heidegger, Phenomenology and Social Thought, International Relations Theories, Research Methodology, United States History and Introduction to International Relations.

He has published in academic journals such as The Review of Politics, European Journal of Political Theory, and Idealistic Studies. He has also recently contributed to Estudios, Foreign Affairs en Español and the blog at Nexos.

He has held scholarships from CONACYT and the Ford-MacArthur-Hewlett and Fulbright-García Robles foundations. In 2012 he was awarded the Stanley Hoffmann Price for Excellence in Teaching from the Committee on Degrees in Social Studies at Harvard University.
