Eric Magar is Professor of Political Science at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). His research deals primarily with how the interaction between institutions, parties, and elections shapes bargaining strategies in systems of separation of power. A sample of his published work includes "Gubernatorial coattails in Mexican Congressional elections" in the Journal of Politics, "Partisanship in non-partisan electoral agencies and democratic compliance" (with Federico Estévez and Guillermo Rosas) in Electoral Studies, and "How much is majority status in the US Congress worth?" (with Gary Cox) in the American Political Science Review.  He coordinates the Recent Mexican Election Vote Returns repository, publicly available at https://github.com/emagar/elecRetrns .
